RMR RamRod F.A.Q's
Question - Why are there groves in the ram?
Answer - These groves are to take weight off that was added by extending the end walls around the bumper. The ram is the same weight as the stock ram. Lighter weight rams are far less efficient. They require the lpr pressure to be increased to make up for the lighter weight. The ram needs weight to generate enough force to open the valve all the way when the gun is fired. We tested several weight rams and the stock weight was the best.
Question - I will need to grease the groves.
Answer - Not at all... The ram only rides on the O-ring. No other part of the ram has contact.
Question - It looks to long.
Answer - Again not at all. It is the exact same length as the stock ram with a stock bumper. Remember the bumper is now fully captured on the sides so you do not see the depth of the bumper.
Question - Aren't there ones just like this for sale by other companies.
Answer - No. No other ram has the fully captured bumper. Some other rams have a thin flat bumper. The RamRod is the only ram with a full depth, fully captured bumper
Question - Why do you sell replacement bumpers?
Answer - The idea behind the RamRod is to prevent the bumper from breaking off and stopping the gun from working properly. This cannot happen with the fully captured bumper. Also the bumper life is greatly increased now that there is no distortion from side movement. Keep in mind it is still a rubber bumper and just like the O-ring it can get to a point where replacement is needed. |
